Ger. 101 class update

To answer your question I really enjoy the class overall. As I am one of the students that really has no prior class experience in this language, I think the class is a little more challenging than for someone who has had a German class before. I think the general pace is good, the only problems I've had are with the overally memorization, and with the amount of vocab and subject mattter we go through, I sometimes find it challenging to figure out what topics are more important to study.

While I don't always understand everything you say in class when you speak German, I still have an idea of the point you trying to get across. I think with more time and exposure to the language, I'll pick up more random words, and start to string together more words.

I can't honestly say if the homework is hard or easy. Some parts are harder than others, butI'd be lying at the same time if I didn't say each homework takes an hour or more to get through. I think the homework is just right. I learn more by writing out the words, so they stick in my mind a lot easier than if homework is more of a "memorize all these words by tomorrow" type of thing.

My goals for the semester is pretty simple. I want to do the best I'm able to do. While I don't expect to be fluent by the end of the first semester, I would definitely like to be able to string a few words into a sentence, or to have simple conversation in German.

The hardest and easiest things in class are sort of hard to put my finger on. They sort of change on a daily basis, so I couldn't give you a straight answer. Although along those same sort of lines, I'd definitely be interested in a tutor to meet with maybe once a week just for some extra help. As I've stated before, I learn by doing, so the extra work will help solidify words and grammar for me this way.

Thank you
