Question 1.
What was the most difficult thing for you this week?
The most difficult thing for me this week was doing the temperatures and weather in the workbook. I had problems coming up with different answers for similar weather conditions. I also found the conjugation a little intimidating. I'm still figuring out the das, der, die, Sie , Ich, Ihr conjunctions, although that is coming along better than in the past weeks.
Question 2.
What was the easiest?
The easiest part for me was learning the body parts, probably just for the simple fact that some of the words are the same in English. I still don't have the nuances of the face or head down yet, but most of the words are similar enough with a little thinking a person can figure out what the German word for that particular body part is.
Question 3.
Where do you think you need the most work?
Wow...Now that's a loaded question...
I need to work on expanding my vocabulary and word conjugation. While I'm starting to get the hang of which letter proceeds the ending of a word depending on what the word before it is, I still need to figure out when to use an example such as "Sie sind" in a sentence. But mostly I just need more work with complete sentences, and a larger vocabulary, as that is obviously important when learning a language. ;) I'm also still trying to learn the way to count. The whole 'switch the numbers around when you get in the higher digits' thing is slowly but surely coming along, but I still have to stop and really think about the number I'm about to use. Otherwise, while I know I've got a long way to go, I'm sure a helluva lot more confident about this subject than I was that first week. I'm sure I'll still need a tutor just to stay up to speed, but this language doesn't seem as insurmountable as it once did. I'm also glad I didn't drop this class, as I really stopped and considered doing so before the Sept. 5th deadline.
